Getting a quote is as easy as 1, 2, 3
1. Decide when your dance is going to begin and how long it will last.
Things you should know:
Following a buffet style dinner that starts at 5:30, a dance usually begins around 7:00 (1.5 hrs later).
Following a served dinner that starts at 5:30, a dance usually begins around 7:30 (2 hrs later).
The average wedding dance lasts 4-5 hours.
We will DJ as long as you need us, but must hold you to a 3 hour minimum.
Keep in mind this is just the length of your dance. Don’t calculate things like dinner or cocktail music into this equation!
2. Multiply the length of your dance (x) our reasonable hourly rate: $150.00.
Things you should know:
TImelines are never set in stone. If you decide your dance will start at 7:30 and conclude at 11:30, don’t worry if everyone is ready for a dance at 7:05. As long as its reasonable, we’ll start when you need us and conclude when you tell us to. Meaning we wont charge you for an extra half-hour or end early if we start early!
3. Choose your add-on’s and add them to your total.
Things you should know:
Our “add-on’s” add a lot to your reception. However, if not purchased, their absence is rarely noticed. Above all else, we pride ourselves on being able to provide unmatched quality for any budget. That said, remember you can always add more when you have a better idea of how thin you’ve stretched your money. Please Note: you will be charged for transportation and set up:$100.00 if the reception is within 100 miles of Minneapolis/St. Paul. $200.00 if located 101 or more miles away. This fee pays for gas, the presence of a DJ’s assistant, and a hotel room if necessary.

Booking and Planning
First,
When you decide that Generation is the right choice for you, give us a call or send an email. Once we receive word that you’re interested in the date, we’ll send 2 signed contracts and a self addressed envelope to you. Sign both contracts, keep one for your records and send the other one back with a $200.00 non refundable deposit. Your date will then be saved and planning your reception may commence!
Then,
Wait for a call from one of us. Generation will contact you and schedule a planning meeting. At that meeting you will be led through the average reception and plan every detail of yours (from your entrance, to the last dance). With the help of one of our DJs you will be given the opportunity to tastefully personalize your reception and plan each minute of your very important party.
As we near your reception…
Take advantage of our online tools, the planning form, song request form, and time-line, which are found in our “booked clients” section. Your planning form and timeline will be created in your planning meeting. However, plans change often. You can access your form and timeline and make changes as they are needed. Upon saving, they are immediately sent to the company, changes can be made up until the day of your wedding! Our song request form allows you to browse through our music as well as searching through our library. You may mark as many songs as you like either “Must Play”(green), “Play if Possible” (yellow), and “Do Not Play” (red). Upon saving, this too is immediately sent to Generation and can also be changed up until the night before your wedding.
Finally,
Sit back and enjoy your reception. We see to it that every planned detail is correct and your timeline is followed. We guide the dinner and put on our show to your exact specifications, all while reminding you where to be and what to do. On the day of your wedding, you need do little more than enjoy your perfect day!
